It is God who
makes both us and you
and has anointed us
by putting his seal on us and
giving us his Spirit in our hearts
as a first installment.
1 Corinthians 1:21-22
What makes us stand firm in Christ?
- Answer 1: God.
- Answer 2: "His Spirit [which has been poured] in our hearts."
- Answer 3: And "his seal" which is an indication of ownership or a guarantee of security.
Did you notice those answers? "God ... God ... and His Spirit."
Most of us are do-it-yourselfers. We try to pray on our own ... and understand the Bible on our own ... and stand firm on our own in the face of life's trials. And we forget that it's God who sows faith and helps us stand.
Yesterday we tried to remember that we can do all things who strengthens us. Today, tell God where you are weak and let him be your strength.
