Aug 1-2 - Psalm 79:6

Pour out your wrath

on the nations that

refuse to acknowledge you—

on kingdoms that do not

call upon your name

Psalm 79:6

There has been a lot of lamenting lately about how our nation has changed.

I'm guilty of some of it. I'm saddened. Appalled in many cases.

Simultaneously ... I'm also confident. We are not -- after all -- the first generation of Christians in a pagan, secular, or hostile culture. (Indeed, the very first generation of Christians lived in very much a very pagan, secular, and hostile culture. In fact, the church has always seemed to thrive best when persecuted.)

I was having lunch with a friend recently who described the failure of most modern Christians.

He said that most of us watch too much national and international news. (And we're disturbed by the trends and frustrated by our seeming helplessness,)

Simultaneously what we miss doing is reaching out to our communities where we really can make a difference!

Indeed, if each one reached one, this world would be a much better place!

You have the power to change your community. Are you doing it?

In Christ's Love,

a guy who needs

to do better himself at

thinking globally but

acting more locally
