Put your sword in its place,
for all who take the sword
will perish by the sword.
Matthew 26:52
The soldiers came with swords and clubs to arrest Jesus. Judas betrayed our Lord with a kiss. The battle had started. The darkness was descending. And Peter drew his sword and quickly drew blood.
Jesus, however, told him, them, and all future generations that his kingdom wasn't to spread through violence.
God is love. That's what makes the Gospel different. We are called to love our God, love our neighbors, and even love our enemies. Indeed, we are called to love people until they ask us why (and then we start telling them about our Savior.)
Question: Who do you need to love until they ask you why?
