Nov 2 - Mark 14:18

when they ... were eating, Jesus said,
"Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me,
one who is eating with me."
Mark 14:18
He actually sat with his betrayer at the table.
Furthermore, he didn't act any differently toward him.
Indeed, when Jesus said this, all of them "19 began to be distressed and to say to him one after another, 'Surely not I?'"
That was the character of Jesus. He loved them all ... even Jesus. He showed no partiality ... even against his betrayer.
This story ought to tell us two things. One, it ought to remind us that if every one of the disciples had to stop and examine his heart, you and I ought to stop and examine our heart.
  • In what ways are we capable of betraying Jesus?
  • Indeed, how do we betray our Lord -- in big ways and usally small and on a daily basis?
Two, how do we treat those who've hurt us?
Can we forgive them? Will we love them? Will anyone else at the table notice the difference?
In Christ's Love,
a guy who ought to forgive
as he's been forgiven
