God made him who had no sin
to be sin for us,
so that in him we might become
the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21
My favorite football games as a child were the ones in the mud. But I'm not sure they were my mother's favorite games. My clothes would be caked with dirt.
Imagine that sin is like muddy clothes.
What this passage says, in effect, is that Jesus puts on our muddy clothes so that we can put on his clean, white robes.
Do you see that? Jesus who is clean and white ("had no sin") was "made ... to be sin [muddy] for us" "so that" "we might become ... righteous [pure and white] in him."
"He's better than Clorox," says a guy who lives like a pig.
In Christ's Love,
a pig in white robes
