September 4 - Romans 5:8

God proves his love for us
in that while we still were sinners
Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
In youth group a few weeks ago, we studied God’s love. One of the first questions I asked was how they would define "love."
One wise youth said, "I think love is actions not emotions."
He said, "Think about it. Feelings come and go. But actions often show your true heart."
In fact, we talked about the disrespect that youth can show their parents, and said, "Aren’t you glad your parents don’t base their love on feelings?" "Yeah," they said, "They’d probably disown us by now."
Our parents, they began to understand, prove their love for us in this — that while we’re angry, disrespectful, and disobedient, they still clothe us, feed us, help us, and forgive us.
And God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.
In Christ’s Love,
a guy who likes to wear red
because 1) I’m an N.C. State guy,
and 2) because I’m a sinner
with a bunch of "scarlet letters"
and blood red scars
but you can’t see them any more because
they covered by God’s big red heart.
Yes, I like wearing God’s red!
