Mar 16 - DAY 32 - You Were Shaped for Serving God

Day 32
You were Shaped
for Serving God

Make a careful exploration of
who you are and the work
you have been given,
and then sink yourself into that.
Galatians 6:4b MSG

What do you do best?

What do you put your best effort into?

The first is a question of gifts. The second is a matter of priorities.

We ought to strive hard at parenting. We ought to devote ourselves to being an honorable spouse. We ought to work diligently at our jobs. But, as Rick Warren says, “God deserves your best.”

The simple way to determine what you value most is to examine how you spend your time and to what you give your highest priority. Serving family is critical. Working hard is important. Discovering a joyful hobby is refreshing. But God deserves our best.

With that in mind, how does God and faith stack up in your list of priorities?

This is why discovering our spiritual gifts can be so important.
  •      When we’re operating in of our area of giftedness, things come easy and we discover joy. Understanding our gifts also helps us focus. We can devote our time to what is best and not get as bogged down in the extraneous.
  •      Serving within our area of giftedness also inspires us serve more … and serve more fully … and give of ourselves more joyfully.
  •      “Accepting and enjoying our shape,” as Rick Warren puts it, makes it easier to make God and faith a priority. If service in the kingdom produces so much fruit, why wouldn’t we be serving readily?!!

In Christ’s Love,
a guy who’s shape and passion
is helping others know God
more fully
